Snow tires and Canada

Pierre and his wife live in central Canada. One winter morning the announcer on the radio says, "We are going to have 8 to 16 centimeters of snow today. Make sure you have snow tires and park your car on the even numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through."
Pierre’s wife goes out and moves her car.

A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio tells them, "We are expecting 10 to 20 centimeters of snow today. Make sure you have snow tires and park your car on the odd numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through."
Again Pierre’s wife goes out and moves her car.

A few days later as they are having breakfast the radio announcer says "We are expecting 12 to 24 centimeters of snow today. Make sure you have snow tires and park.... snap, crackle, buzz" The power goes off and the radio's dead.

Pierre's wife is very disturbed, and says to her husband, "Honey, I what should I do? I don't know which side of the street to park on so the plow can get through."

He responds, "Why don't you just leave the car in the garage this time?"
