If the outside edges are also worn and not due to hard driving and track days, then under inflation played a role. I always start with about 2 psi over the sticker and go from there. More with loads or big trips.

Have them check toe as well as camber. Note it is common for the rear tires on BMWs to wear the insides first but not to that degree and not usually the fronts.
