I have E93M for myself and F25 35i for my wife.
IMO, it is the best combination for couple without kid.
My wife had E90, she just wanted a little bit bigger car.
Fully loaded F25 35i meets all requirements of us (300 HP & Torque for me and comfort ride for her).
Every time I have a chance to drive her x3, I'm so happy with its cost effectiveness and practicality.
