The best with the Oyster is that the floor covering is black. If you order beige then the floor and the entire intrerior is beige.
I have a golden retriever and a 2 1/2 year old. I too had second thoughts, and coming from a black sports interior of an E53 X5, Oyster is a nice change and does give the car a luxurious look and feel.
I had no issues keeping the beige seats in my X5 MKI clean the bugger was the floor covering.
Mine is a 3.0d (Vermillion/Oyster) and a May production and hope to get it around July.
