Understanding the whole world wide purchase of the X3 makes one understand what is going on.
I think we will find that the waiting list for cars wherever you are (except for the US) is long because as well as BMW in South Carolina manufacturing and assembling (building) cars for the the US and the European/UK market, they are producing Knock Down Kits for the assembly factories in market in places like India, Indonesia and Thailand etc. Naturally this stretches the component builders and slows the system down.
That is my view anyway.
