My 28i built on 12/01/2012 came with silver grill. There is no clear criteria for the color of the grill. Silver looks much more elegant than the flat black IMO. Those who with a grill color preference, put it on your purchase contract and dealers are happy to swap with your preferred color free of charge. If you didn't do it ahead of time then prepare to pay couple of 100s for "installation".
