This one of the very first lessons, when you into the jet fighter class: Forget all show and silly cinema maneuvers and do it from the beginning correct.
A straight upward climb is not only limited by the sky but by thrust and gravity. If you're staying too long you would just stall the plane and spool down in circles. That's not funny, neither training nor show.
