Sorry for the necro bump but I was playing around with Bimmercode recently and saw an option to change the Brake Force Lights from expanded area (rear fogs) to European style flashing.
I set mine up to flash 5 times and can also choose 1 of 3 threshold points when the flashing activates based on how hard you're braking.
Was playing in the snow recently and can see the flashing from the reflection of the lights off the snow.
One caveat though, you are choosing either the solid expanded surface (rear fogs) vs just the outboard lights + center high mounted lights flashing.
