Hey I checked one of the offset calculator websites and noticed that the center bore of X3= 72.6. And the X5 is 74.1. That would mean that it would be loose could cause vibrations. Not sure if you could find hub centric rings to keep them truly centered.

As for width of tire. I’m pretty sure you could go 255 in the fronts on stock wheels. If the after market wheel has a lower offset ( sticks out away from the strut) then for sure you can go wider. For example I once tried my 335i 10” wide drag radials (275/35/19) on the front of the X3 and it fit It did stick out past the fender a little bit. But the offset was lower than OEM.
