All suspension systems are a set of compromises, whether set up to be inclined towards comfort or sport.
To widen the suspension envelope, a system with more than one setting is obviously going to have less compromise. If those settings are active, an even wider working range in each mode. I've a 5-series with Adaptive Drive (3 base settings) and compared to any previous BNW I've owned, this gives so much more scope to have the ride I want for driving mood and the roads I drive. Best of all worlds, IMO.
